blogging update
I posted another topic for them to blog about and reminded them to give more than a few word answer. I am still getting short answers or kids typ1n l1k3 this in their posts. We used to do a weekly journal and I have started to use the blog as the replacement for that. How do you handle students that won't write more?

I told my students 3 things about posting. First, you cannot have a complete idea in less than three sentences. Also, "C" means average, also known as doing what is expected. In order to get a "B" you need to go above average and "A" is beyond expectations. That way it is understood that this simply an all or nothing assignment. Third, if I do not feel like reading it because it was not in English, there will not be a grade. Hopefully that helps.
